THE RESIDENT ASSISTANT PROGRAM

The Resident Assistants team provides peer leadership of the resident body under the direction of the Village Director. The team provides a wide range of services including pastoral care, management of the living dynamic, crisis management, policy and procedure development, and a framework for development and implementation of social, cultural, volunteering, and sporting activities.

The team also provides two-way communication in the Village, disseminating and collecting information through formal and informal means.

The team operates and is available within the Village twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Experience and program reviews have shown that residents favour non-structured and casual activities. Low cost activities that don’t require much travel or a forward commitment are preferred by RMIT Village OM residents.
