RESIDENT ASSISTANTS - THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM TEAM

The Residential Programs Team consists of a member of Village staff and a number of Resident Advisers. All of the members of the team live in the Village and are students.

The teams are in the Village to support residents and to provide opportunities for residents to interact with each other and the broader community. The Resident Advisers are trained in conflict resolution, first aid, and a range of other areas relating to running the Village and assisting residents.

They also are part of a future leaders program that exposes them to a range of well known people in senior positions of leadership in politics, public service, and the private sector.

The team organise a range of social, sporting, cultural and community service related activities. The members of the team have a more serious side to them and play an important role in making sure that the Village operates smoothly and that a pleasant environment for all residents is maintained.

If you are having a great time and creating lots of noise late at night it will often be a Resident Adviser who comes to remind you that your neighbours may not be enjoying themselves as much as you! They are also there to provide assistance to residents who are experiencing difficulties and are in need of assistance. You can also just have a chat with them if you need talk anything through with someone. The team also assist in developing policy and provide advice to the management of the Village.
